Individual Psychotherapy
My therapeutic style is integrative. I am dedicated to understand you and to help you become aware of different parts of yourself to reach progressively deeper layers of your inner world. Specifically, my goal isI to help you overcome problematic behaviors that might be in the way of you thriving. Some parts of yourself can be active and cause symptoms and self sabotaging behaviors, which we can address with structured interventions. Some other parts of you may lay deep in your unconscious, and can only be accessed through your mind wandering, associations or dreams, of which we can make sense together. Early problematic patterns will often emerge in our relationship and can be understood and transformed in therapy. This process can take time, but I am committed to hearing feedback and assessing progress on a regular basis. My goal is to help you, through a respectful and collaborative relationship, to re-establish a secure attachment base, whereby you experience safety and confidence in the world. A secure attachment will allow you to grow, explore, live fully and flexibly, and trust in yourself and others.
I enjoy working in-depth and long term with people who are interested in a rich journey of self discovery. I also work with people with a specific symptom (like OCD, or panic) or adult trauma on the shorter term. Appointments will be once or twice a week, starting with twice a week if symptoms are active and disruptive. Long term psychodynamic therapy has been found effective in the treatment of depression and anxiety disorder, and unlike short term psychotherapy, its benefits stick in the long term.
